Giving Back to the Community

Empire Realty is proud to be able to give back to our local community. Since our inception in 2002, we have always focused on how we can continue to give back to the communities that we live and work in. Many of our agents have lived and worked in this area for over 20 years!

Relay for Life

One day. One night. One community. Empire Realty is proud to have been a major fundraiser for Relay for the last three years. In 2009, our team raised over $7,000 and was one of the top three companies to raise the most money.

Much more than a walk around a track, Relay is a time to celebrate those who have battled cancer, remember those lost and get inspired to fight back. Those who have shared the same experience find common ground, hope and healing at Relay. By participating, you have the power to continue the American Cancer Society's progress toward a future where cancer doesn't take the lives of our friends and family.

With the help of the community, the American Cancer Society has:

  • Raised $101,485.94 for the American Cancer Society
  • Shared the spirit of Relay For Life...celebrating our Survivors, Remembering those lost to cancer and Fighting Back against this disease with over 500 people
  • Collected over 1200 cans of food for the Food Bank of Contra Costa
  • Collected over 200 cans of pet food for the Alameda County Animal Shelter
  • Recycled 77 pounds of #1 plastic
  • Recycled 5 bags of other plastics
  • Diverted 140 pounds of foodscraps and biocompostables from trash
  • Walked 3200 miles...the equivalent of the distance from San Ramon to Anchorage, Alaska

One Warm Coat

It’s That Time Of Year Again...
Please join Empire Realty Associates and support One Warm Coat by donating your gently used coats, jackets, and sweatshirts. The coat drive will be going on November 1st - January 15th.

To make a donation, please stop by 380 Diablo Road, Danville or 1261 Locust Street, Walnut Creek. The offices are open Monday through Friday between 8:30am – 5pm. Thank you for your continued support!

In January of 2009, Empire Realty held a One Warm Coat drive in both our Danville and Walnut Creek offices.  In total, we collected 232 warm coats, jackets, and sweaters! We participated in this drive because it reaches out to the local community and delivers a good message, that there it is a simple way to help people who are in need. The dream is that One Warm Coat will become part of the American lifestyle, so that when a coat is no longer in need, people will donate their gently used items to One Warm Coat. This year they raised around 350,000 coats and arranged over 2,000 drives.

The Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano

In the fall of 2008, Empire Realty Associates teamed up with the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano to gather donations for the Holiday Food Drive. Donations include canned and dried goods, peanut butter, fruit juice, and other non-perishable items. Combined, we were able to collect 267 pounds of canned food!

The Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano was founded in 1975 and serves over 98,000 people every month. They distribute about 9.6 million pounds of food per year, which is enough for about 7.68 million meals. Their mission is, “to alleviate hunger and provide an efficient, coordinated system for collecting and distributing food that reduces food waste and increases public awareness regarding hunger and food security issues in Contra Costa and Solano counties.”

The Princess Project

The Princess Project promotes self-confidence and individual beauty by providing free prom dresses and accessories to high school girls who cannot otherwise afford them. As the costs to attend high school prom soar, The Princess Project has made this tradition a reality for over 9,000 Bay Area girls since 2002. This year, Empire Realty collected 10 dresses and accesories for this worthy cause!

Toys for Tots

During the holiday months, Empire Realty works alongside Toys for Tots to collect new and unwrapped toys for children of all ages. This past year we collected over 300 toys for children in the East Bay.

The objectives of Toys for Tots are to help needy children throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas; to play an active role in the development of one of our nation's most valuable natural resources - our children; to unite all members of local communities in a common cause for three months each year during the annual toy collection and distribution campaign; and to contribute to better communities in the future.
